JUNE
How did summer get here so fast?! Everything is blooming like mad, and so everyone should be ecstatic, right? Well, if only I could squeeze a few more peonies here, or another rose there, or try a tamarix over there, I hear you cry. Hmmm, if you plant more, you will have less to mow... and more to look at and enjoy! So what does the gardener do in June, when the glories of May blooms are over? Wait for the hydrangeas and butterfly bushes and rose of sharon? Nah...go crazy - go for foliage! Plant a fernleaf buckthorn or a twisty baby locust or a full moon maple! Try some japanese painted ferns!
